Chimney Springs Homeowners' Association

From the Board and Committees

Board of Directors

Donald Potts, Chair

The time is drawing closer for the Clubhouse renovation to begin. This has been a project in development since the inception of the 5-year master plan. I want to thank those individuals who developed the 5-year plan for their hard work and dedication to the continued improvement of our community. Without the foresight of these individuals, we would not have the new tennis facility, the playground area, basketball court, the field or the trails. I also want to thank the members of the Clubhouse Renovation Committee for their commitment and tireless hours of work on the plans for the new Clubhouse. I believe this new facility will be a great addition to the Chimney Springs Community for all to use.

So (drum roll please), the Board of Directors approved the Macallan Group as the contractor for the new Clubhouse facility. This company recently completed the Indian Hills Clubhouse project. Please feel free to visit their website (www.macallangroup.com) to learn more about them. Construction is slated to begin soon after Labor Day with completion before the opening of the pool in 2010.

We will need some volunteers to move items out of the Clubhouse. Please contact the office if interested in helping. Thanks again to all those involved in this process.

News from the Pro

Where has the summer gone? It’s hard to believe August is already here. There is one more week of Tennis Camp. Session 10 is August 3 to August 7. As of this writing, spots are available. Call to sign up.

We have many activities going on at the courts. For adults, there is the Wednesday Night Clinic from 7:30 to 9:30pm. There is also the Friday Clinic from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. The cost for the clinics is $15. No advance sign up is necessary. Come on down and bring a friend.

For Juniors we have drills starting in September on Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:30pm. The cost is $15. For Tiny Tots ages 4-6 we have Mondays from 5:00 to 5:45pm for only $10. The Adult and Junior Clinics will continue year round.

Captains, remember to call to set up lessons for the upcoming ALTA season. The sooner you call the more likely you are to get the day and time you are looking for. The HOA office gets copies of rosters and I need a copy of your schedule.

If you’re in the market for a new racquet I can get you any Head for the best price in town. I have most demos. Come by and try them out. If you need your racquet professionally strung, I can get it back to you in 24 hours, most of the time. I can also re-grip your racquet.

See You At Courts!
